The series Sempre lo stesso cielo (Always the same sky) was born from a small daily ritual, which I started without any reason: taking a photo of the sky above me every day, wherever I was. After nearly two years of the photos accumulating undisturbed and without any reason, by chance I began to think on the big clouds of starlings, floating on the EUR, which I saw as a child from my bedroom window. That huge multitude of birds unconsciously and continuously generated new forms, resulting from the sum of the actions of each individual. Both the sky and the shapes generated from flying birds, are instants of constant mutation and both have a strong relationship with the concept of Time and the Future. The scrutiny of the sky and the sighting of birds in flightwas a practice widely used by various ancient populations, such as Roman or Etruscan Auspicia,to try to understand the divine will and therefore in a more general way to guess the future: an exercise that men, even if with other means considered more “scientific”, have never stopped practising. 

 

 

La serie Sempre lo stesso cielo nasce da un piccolo rito quotidiano, che iniziai senza alcun motivo. Scattare tutti giorni, in qualsiasi posto mi trovassi, una foto del cielo sopra di me. Dopo quasi due anni che le foto si accumulavano indisturbate e senza alcuna ragione, cominciai per caso a ragionare sulle grandi nuvole di storni, fluttuanti sull’EUR, che vedevo da bambino dalla finestra della mia stanza. Quell’enorme moltitudine di uccelli generava incosciente e di continuo, delle nuove forme, risultanti dalla sommatoria delle azioni di ogni singolo individuo. Sia il cielo sia le forme generate dagli uccelli in volo, sono istanti di una continua mutazione e hanno entrambi una forte relazione con il concetto di Tempo e di Futuro, e anche con il tentativo costante, tipicamente umano, di cercare di indovinarlo.​
